Once again for the 3rd time the Konkani speaking community of St. Thomas Parish had the privilege of participating in a solemn Eucharist in Konkani at 7.30pm on 3rd December, celebrated by Fr. Anthony Fernandes, Professor at St. Pius X, College together with our Fr. Joseph Gonsalves.
The parishioners participated in the Eucharist with true devotion and fervour giving praise and glory to God for the gift of St. Francis Xavier, fondly called Goencho Saib to our country India and the patron of our Archdiocese. The choir with their melodious singing through a perfect blend of voices helped the faithful lift their hearts in perfect prayer to the Almighty Lord through the intercession of St. Francis Xavier. Fr. Anthony Fernandes in his homily highlighted the missionary life of St. Francis Xavier that challenged him to spread the Good News of Jesus to various parts of the world, specially the Asian regions and brought the faith to our land. He urged the congregation to follow in his footsteps and become enthusiastic witnesses of the faith everywhere.
The festive spirit continued after mass where everyone together with the Fathers greeted each other and everyone enjoyed a piece of cake and pattice
We truly appreciate the willingness of Fr. Nelson our Parish priest to have this Eucharist in honour of St. Francis Xavier to be celebrated in Konkani in our Parish and the participation of a large numbe of faithful in the celebration.
May St. Francis Xavier continue to inspire and intercede for us all.
