The Borivili deanery SCC Rally was hosted by St. Thomas parish on 07th January 2024 on the school grounds. The Event started at 6pm & we had the participation of a total of 15 parishes. The Theme of the day was “Hearts on Fire - SCC’s on the move”.
The Event began with inviting the Dignitaries on stage - Bishop Barthol Barretto, Fr. Nelson Saldanha & Deacon Saby Fernandes. Each co-ordinator was asked to march with their church flags thereby representing their respective Parishes. This was followed by the lighting of the Samai and unveiling of the backdrop conveying the message – “No one in want”. The welcome note was given by Deacon Saby Fernandes.
St. Thomas Parish kick-started the event with the Welcome song. This was followed by other Parishes coming up with skits, dance performances & action Songs. Bishop Barthol was felicitated during the event and he thereafter shared some vital thoughts on the Rally. He then with a heavy heart bid farewell to all, as he now moves on to take yet another important role as Bishop of Nasik Diocese. Snacks were served during the break time that was very appetizing.
Diaries were distributed to all the priests present and given to the ones who couldn’t make it too to their respective SCC co-ordinators. There was a Lucky Draw for the Entry Passes & 3 lucky winners were awarded prizes.
The Rally was well attended by 900 plus Co-ordinators and Animators which concluded with a Vote of thanks by Fr. Nelson. The entire Logistics, Ground Arrangements Snacks Co-ordination & Ushering was very ably & efficiently managed by the St. Thomas Parish Team. We had the appreciation of many parishes that were amazed by the time, energy and efforts put in by each of them selflessly. The Rally seen closure at 9 p.m. with a lot of memories, on the move, for the years to come.
