We entered the Spirit of celebrating the ‘St Thomas Feast’ with Triduum Masses. There were themes for each day with thought-provoking homilies.
Faith Filled Church - Fr. Aniceto Pereira
Collaborative Church - Fr. John Barretto
Inclusive Church - Fr. Walter D’souza
Feast day Eucharist - Bp. Allwyn D’silva
Soon after mass each day we had a variety of programs organized by the parish. We began with a ‘Cultural Evening’ where some communities had their members perform to some amazing dance tracks. We had some delicious refreshment stalls put up by the youth. The evening ended with Housie and some great cash prizes.
We also had a ‘Thomasian Night’ organized for the first time. The evening saw a good turnout of couples who danced and enjoyed both old and new music. Games and spot prizes kept the evening entertaining right till the end. Not to forget the lovely spread of snacks that took care of those looking for a quick bite.
On the feast day, we had a Brass Band procession that welcomed Bp. Allwyn along with all the three priests of our parish to the quadrangle. The event began with a welcome note by His Lordship, followed by some live musical performances that entertained the crowd. The ‘Raffle Draw’ gave out 25 prizes to the winners. We had various Associations that put up stalls for the first time and gave us a chance to enjoy the delicious food spread. The program came to an end with a lot of nonstop dance and spot prizes.
This brought us to the end of all the festivities. Heartfelt thanks to all the parishioners for their participation, and looking forward to more celebrations next year.
