The main event of the evening was the Talent Hunt. Children, youth and adults put up a fabulous display of solo/ duet singing and dancing in each category. One performed better than the other, giving the three judges Mr. Louis Fernandes, Sr. Romana Fernandes and Ms. Diana an uphill task in deciding the winners. All three judges felt that there was a lot of talent all to be tapped and allowed to blossom. Our Parish project coordinator Ms. Cassina Netto briefly described about the need for SCC in the parish & the role of the community Coordinator. Our Chief Guest Deacon Sebastian Fernandes appreciated the hard work of the coordinator further requesting them to take the SCC to the clusters level next, as is the vision of the Archdiocese. We concluded with prize distribution to the winners with a thankful note to meet again the next day with the dress code -Traditional.
17th November evening began with a Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration followed by the evening for families on the school ground. It was amazing to see most the parishoners dressed in their traditional festive attire, all bubbling with excitement, eagerly looking forward for the fun filled evening to begin. Sr. Teckla led the gathering in prayer. Mr. Derick Fernandes, the Vice President of the PPC welcomed the gathering. Our comperes for the evening, Clyde and Janice Saldanha led everyone into the Family March at the start after which Ms. Sharol took charge with all enthusiasm getting all the young & old on the floor to play some exciting games & not forgetting the bunch of volunteers who assisted her. We were all then treated to tasty snacks after which we all waited anxiously to witness the raffle draw, applauding the Lucky ten winners. The entire parish community leaving aside children and seniors joined in the games and had fun-tastic game, playing bombing the corners of the parish. It was fun to see young and old in action. As we came to the end of the evening, Fr. Constancio thanked everyone involved in making the Utsav 2019 a great success. Fr. Oscar led everyone in the grace before meals. As the senior citizens went off for their meals, the floor was kept alive by wonderful dancing by young and old.
